Hungarian 3D printer manufacturer CraftUnique offers the CraftBot Flow lineup of FDM 3D printers comprising four models: two single extrusion and two individual dual extrusion (IDEX) versions.
The company developed this series with a primary focus on reliability and efficiency, having equipped them with cutting-edge features and its proprietary technology that was the result of referring to active user feedback. Every model from the CraftBot Flow family is "inspired" by the market and is designed to offer its own benefits.
Providing reliable, plug-and-play 3D printing solutions
CraftUnique is known to provide user-friendly, “plug-and-play” devices that can respond to the needs of the customer. The company released its first CraftBot 3D printer back in 2014, and has since launched a number of more advanced models such as the CraftBot 3, XL, and Plus.
With the new generation of Flow 3D printers, CraftUnique sought to enhance its concept by the addition of multiple new features. This includes a unique removable spring bed made up of tempered glass, metal, and Kapton polyimide film to guarantee maximum adhesion throughout the printing process. To make print removal simpler, the heated bed comes with a flexible board.
CraftBot Flow 3D printers also feature a mesh calibration system with the BLTouch sensor, which simplifies bed leveling. The single extrusion versions have an auto calibration along XY axes, while the IDEX printers feature semi-automatic, electronic-aided Z leveling as well. The devices also sport a 360 fan duct and the capability of pausing and resuming the printing process.
The product comes equipped with a 32-bit motherboard for greater accuracy of 3D printing, as well as the Raspberry Pi engine for fast response times and a unified user interface displayed on a 5" color touchscreen.
To increase the reliability of the printers, CraftUnique designed the body with a double-shell reinforced structure and sturdy aluminum profiles along the Z-axis. The CraftBot Flow family is also equipped with a new filament monitoring system to minimize failures due to filament issues and an all-metal hotend to improve printing quality.
CraftBot Flow lineup models
The CraftBot Flow generation is designed to meet the needs of both novice and professional users. The CraftBot Flow single extrusion model is a compact 3D printer that has a build volume of 30 x 20 x 25 cm, meant for everyday use in the prototyping, engineering, design, and machinery fields. The Flow is yet larger than 3D printers that are typically designed for hobbyists and makers. The print speed of the device is 200 mm/s, and the nozzle operating temperature can reach 300 °C. The maximum temperature of the heated build plate is 110 °C.
To produce larger parts, CraftUnique offers a bigger device called CraftBot Flow XL. Apart from the enlarged build volume of 30 x 20 x 50 cm, its specifications are identical to those of its smaller version.
The Flow IDEX models are designed to double the performance with dual extruders and larger print chambers that allow for two simultaneous print jobs.The printers can operate in mirror mode to double the output, in duplication mode to achieve larger volume of production, and in multimaterial mode which lets users to print items with two different materials, bicolor objects, or with PVA supports.
In spite of two print heads, the CraftBot Flow IDEX and IDEX XL have the same print speed (and operating temperatures) as their single extrusion counterparts. The CraftBot Flow IDEX is equipped with an impressive build chamber of 45 x 25 x 25 cm, while the IDEX XL also features an extended Z-axis of 50 cm.
